Self-confidence is just a feeling – the feeling that you can handle the situation, whatever the situation is. It’s an internal feeling – and most people think that you either have it or you don’t, and if you don’t have it, there’s nothing that can be done to get that feeling. That’s simply not true.
And where do feelings come from? They either come as the result of your conscious thoughts, OR they may arise from your subconscious mind. And your subconscious mind can easily be fooled. It thinks very literally – if you tell your subconscious mind that a feeling is here, in this particular spot, your subconscious mind will express that feeling through your body whenever you step into that spot.
This secret – that your subconscious mind will set up the feelings inside your body when you instruct it to – is the basis of this exercise.
